Ametsuchi

Ametsuchi is a song by Shing02 that was created for Japanese manufacturer Six Inc, to demonstrate their product, the Lyric Speaker. The speaker is made in Japan with a translucent acrylic screen that displays animated lyrics in sync to the song being played, with varying animation styles depending on the type of song.

I was asked to design the cover art for the song's release. The design centers around the idea of words being created through technology and takes inspiration from the aesthetic of the actual product. The type for the Japanese characters '天地' (meaning heaven and earth) is a custom type made for the cover design.
