Slate & Marker is a film competition that calls on local filmmakers to conceptualize, shoot, edit, and complete a short film, all within a week. The competition is open to all filmmakers and strives to be an event that provides filmmakers the opportunity to challenge themselves, showcase their work, and network with others.

The logomark for Slate & Marker was developed as a monogram and is based on a silhouette of a slate. The 'S' forms the slate, while the 'M' is placed inside where the markings would be on a slate board. The wordmark is a slightly customized type where the letter 'S' is stylized to resemble a closed slate.
